With more than 30 years of experience in human health risk assessment, I specialize in the toxicology, environmental fate and risk assessment of chemicals in the environment and occupational settings. I work for a wide range of industries, focusing my work on metals, and other inorganics, air toxics and air pollution. I guide my clients through technical and regulatory challenges and design innovative research strategies to address their specific needs, with the goal of reducing uncertainty and improving the accuracy of risk assessment results.
SUPERVISING ENGINEER
ToxStrategies
I have over 25 years of expertise in occupational and environmental health risk assessments, including evaluating chemical and physical workplace hazards and exposures to the general public. PRINCIPAL ENGINEER
ToxStrategies
I have over 40 years of experience in providing consulting for environmental exposure and risk assessment. I have prepared hundreds of chemical and radiation risk assessments, managed numerous complex site investigations and remediation projects, and have been active for many years in the development of federal and state rules and guidance regarding risk assessment. My current specialty is developing and applying scientific methods for assessment of cumulative health risks at communities that may be vulnerable to chemical and non-chemical stressors. I enjoy developing creative solutions to new risk assessment problems.
SENIOR MANAGING SCIENTIST, DIRECTOR EXPOSURE SCIENCES
ToxStrategies
In my 30 years as an environmental consultant, I have gained experience in a wide range of health risk assessments, from large-scale Superfund and RCRA projects to smaller property transaction evaluations. Throughout my career I have worked on air toxics risk assessments, where I integrate modeling and monitoring data, ambient air quality, exposure assumptions, bioaccessibility, toxicology, and regulatory guidelines to provide accurate health risk evaluations. More recently, I have focused on assessing the bioaccessibility of metals in soil and air to refine human health risk estimates to support effective environmental decision-making.
